A coffee company wants a new flaver of cajun coffee. How many pounds of coffe worth $5 a pound should be added 30 pounds of coffee worth $2 a pound to get a mixture worth $3 a pound

Let the weight of the first coffee be x and the weight of the resulting coffee be y.

So, the total cost is given by: 5x + 30(2) = 3y

The addition of both weights is given by:
x + 30 = y
