I'm a teenager & I have scleroderma. My mom said I could get my belly button pierced if my doc. Said it was okay... well I don't go for awhile and I was just wanting to hear from someone else before I ask him. So can you get your belly button pierced if you have scleroderma? Thanx-em:cool:

If I am not mistaken scleroderma is the hardening of the skin. I suppose it could harden around the piercing and could cause problems.
The real question is why would you want to puncture your skin?
It was not meant to be cut, pierced, burned, tatooed, or branded.
Good luck to you.

Thanks for the advice:D but the scleroderma is on my leg not my belly button.

Because I want to.. I have a flat stomach why not show it off some? My parents don't mind if I do get it pierced... I just am wondering if you can if you have scleroderma? My ears are pierced.. but I'm not sure about my belly button

Two things. You answered.. because you want to. What does your ailment matter than?
You also said you have a flat stomach and you want to show it off? But if you pierce it you will be showing off your jewelry... not your stomach. Men will appreciate your belly more than the jewelry, ask your dad.
My brother and sister have tatoos, my cousin has a belly and a more private piercing...
My brother and sister regret it and are saving to get it lasered off, my cousin took her piercing off and she can't stand the holes she has there now.
They all were in their teens and they all said 'because I want to' .

I'm just saying.
Good luck..

Young lady your situation is not to be taken lightly.

Not to scare you or anything but we had a friend that had Scleroderma, she had a corporal tunnel operation on her wrist and the disease ravaged her body and within 2 years she died.

You need to be very health conscientious and build your immune system to the maximum you can.

Please don't risk infection with a silly piercing, yes, you may get noticed but for the wrong reasons. It won't be worth your life.

My wife ,in the past year has overcome some major health challenges through Glyconutrients and proper nutrition ,we could see the improvements in her within a short time,
She was loving it when I would tell her she was looking better and better each new day.
And now she is 80% better.

We need neutritional suppliments because our food lacks 6 essential nutrients.

Let me know and we will pass along the information so you can make quality decisions about your health.

God Bless and take care.

Well I don't have the bad type of scleroderma it's the morphia scleroderma.. and I'm not unhealthy. I'm actually pretty healthy. And I haven't even been sick in a long time, for having no immune system. And I did talk to my doc and he actually said it was up to me and my mom. So I'm still not sure if I want to or not. But well yeah
