No, bacterial vaginosis is caused by interrupting the natural Ph in your vaginal tract by an outside source.

Can Bacterial Vaganosis be the cause for early child birth?

Yes, it can. It can put the woman at risk for Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes (PPROM).


Although it hasn’t been “statistically” proven that actually treating the condition will reduce the risk of preterm delivery and other problems, experts still suggest that treatment be done because of the fact that women with bacterial vaginosis are at a greater risk for a preterm delivery.

Having BV while pregnant may put a woman at increased risk for some complications of pregnancy, such as preterm delivery.
