If you are 12 are you old enough to stay at home alone without mom or dad but you know your neighbors very well and your other neighbors is you grandpa?

You don't say where you are from, what city, state or even country and rules vary from place to place. Yes l2 is the accepted age to be home alone legally in some places but it also involves maturity level, and your parents have to decide that based on this.

It doesn't matter who lives next door, grandpa, aunt or uncle, but can you handle emergencies as they come up. Can you address situations that require mature thinking? Do you have other brothers and sisters that are younger then you who would be in your care?
