I bought a HP pavilion g6 last month it was working fine. I had not created any partition in my Hard Disk. But around 15 days back I found that a new disk Q has been formed which I can't access. Whenever I click on it it says "access is denied" .
I can't even delete it its not there in my control panels disk management. I contacted the Hp service center they asked me to format it I did.But it got formed again after sometime .Yesterday evening it was not there but it was present today morning . I called them again thy said virus issues .I don't understand I have tried 3 antiviruses, 1st norton then kaspersky then Microsoft security essentials. I have no clue what to do.

Did you install Office 2010? One of the ways to install it creates a virtual drive named "Q".

Well that's the operating system. Often Windows computers come pre-installed with a streamlined edition of Microsoft Office. Have you used Word to opn any documents? If so what does it say when Word starts up?

Thanks do much I ordered a recovery cd & formatted my laptop twice for nothing. Does formatting it within a short interval harmful?

Nah, you're OK. Sucks having to re install everything. I got a new computer last year, uninstalled Office 2010 and installed Office 2003, it's really all I need (hate the Ribbon)
