I went to a car dealer. I wanted to buy a car from him. So he gave me a car with a plate tagged "for repair". He told me to test the car and drive it for one day or two in order to test it before buying it.

The next day, I was pulled over by a police officer and he gave me a "misdemeanor" ticket. He said that the dealer has given me a wrong plate. The officer added that the dealer gave me the wrong plate, as he was supposed to give me a test drive plate, not for repair one! Anyway, the officer has invited me to a court hearing. He also suggested that I bring the dealer with me.

I never had any tickets or any kind of violations of the law, and I believe that this is not my fault because I don't know what kind of plate I should have on the dealer's car before testing it. Anyway, I hired a lawyer and attended the court hearing.

The judge has reduced the charge from "dealer plate" to "impeding traffic". I received a report from the court stating the following:

Offense Date: 8/3/2011
Findings: Found responsible at hearing
Original Charge: Dealer Plate
State Cost: Traffic Civil Infraction
Charge reduced to: "impeding traffic"
State Cost: Traffic Civil Infraction
Wave fines!

So, is this going to affect my application for citizenship application when I apply? And how do I answer the following questions on the N-400 application? :

16. Have you ever been arrested, cited, or detained by any law enforcement officer (including USCIS or former INS and military officers) for any reason?

17. Have you ever been charged with committing any crime or offense?

18. Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense?

Thank you very much for your assistance in advance!
