Hi, I have a question with the spout on the left, is the set screw supposed to go on the copper pipe? After I installed it, water is leaking at wall and spout area. Please help.

Hello Jack you responded a 2 1/2years old thread check the date on the upper left corner.
To answer your question yes the screw goes on the copper pipe, you may be missing the O ring that goes inside the spout, remove the spout and check if the O ring is there if it is check the O ring for any damage.
To install the spout use a little silicone GREASE to lubricate the new O ring just prior to installation so the new O ring doesn't bind and break, good luck.

The funny thing is that when I tighen the set screw the right amount, it will start to leak. If I loosen it to the point that the spout is almost falling out, there will be no leak. But of course it not be safe to leave it loose like that and the spout may come flying out. Fyi, I am trying to install a 10 years old spout back temporary since the new one I got is missing some parts, maybe the seals are loose from me pulling it out. Thanks.
I am just worried that when I do get the proper new spout, it will still leak. I am just trying to do all the research now. It should just be to take out the old one and set screw the new one back in, no magic right? I remember when I remove the spout the first time, it was quite tight and I had to pull on it, since I am trying to temopary fix it, it is easy to put in and out. I guess I wored out the seals.

Hi Jack and welcome to The Plumbing Page on AMHD.
You piggybacked on a 2 1/2 year old dead thread, as Bob says, so I gave you one of your own. Before you post look in the upper left hand corner for the date..
It sounds to me like you've moved the "O" rings out of position. Follow Johns instructions and you'll be just fine. N Good luck, Tom

Thanks, I like the old post because of the picture which shows exactly what I have. Is there an exploded view of the price pfister spout? Just want to make sure the parts are put in the right order. Thanks.

All slip on spouts are pretty much the same,(see image) Just be sure to follow johns instructions and lube the pipe so you don't roll the "O" ring out of position, (like I think you did with the other one} and you should be just fine. Good luck, Tom
