Is it illegal to use a drinking funnel that reaches from a second story window (of an apartment) to the ground outside if you are still on your own property outside?

Can you explain this more. What is a drinking funnel and what were you charged with?

I cannot positively say it is legal , but why would it be illegal unless the substance you were running through it is a controlled substance?

I assume you are drinking beer through this , but whatever it is that is a lot of volume
.Figuring it would be about 12 to 15 feet long with a 1" diameter that will hold 1/2 gallon (aprox)

If that is the case you are flirting with acute alcohol poisoning if you are drinking beer or wine ( if anyone could keep that much all at once down.) And that can kill you
But I doubt it is illegal but that is an opinion only.

I can find no legal precedent .

I have not yet been charged, but me and my roommates have made this drinking funnel (that is 18ft long with a diameter of 3/4") that will contain beer and we just wanted to look into the legal repercussions before we use it, so we do not get in trouble with the authorities. However we have made a valve on our funnel to control the amount of alcohol that one person can take at a time.

First we assume you are of legal drinking age. However you make the incorrect assumption that you are still on your own property. You own property is the apartment Anything outside your apartment belongs to either the landlord or is considered common property.

Again, assuming you are of legal drinking age, then I see nothing specifically illegal about using this funnel. However, if you get rowdy outside (or inside) of your apartment there could be charges like public drunkenness, disturbing the peace, reckless endangerment, etc.
