1994 ford ranger will not start, new alternator, fuel pump kicks in... I'm wondering if it's the mass air flow sensor... what else could it be?

Check for spark. If none, focus on the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil.

Here is quick way to perform test

Quick Test # 1 With the engine running, tap on the MAF sensor slightly. If the engine stumbles it is a sign of a bad MAF.

Quick Test #2 Disconnect the MAF with the engine running. If the engine condition improves, MAF is likely bad.

You can also run an OHM test to see if you are getting with the MAF unplugged .3volts. But the best test is to disconnect the MAF.

The other night I was pulling into the driveway and my truck just cut off and won't start back up. It sounds like something's not firing right but I'm stumped. I've cleaning the mass air flow sensor, chaned over both ignition coils, and changed the ignition control module and she still won't start? Any suggestions?

If the fuel pump makes a noise when you turn the key to the on position, is it good?
