I messed up big time. Ok so tomorrow is homecoming and my boyfriend invited me to go. So a week later his mom gets mad at me by flipping me off when I was driving. So I since I thought she was mad I told one of my friends that I can drive her because she didn't have a ride. Then today I finally saw his mom and she said that she wasn't mad and that she can drive me to homecoming because we are going together as dates. So I told my friend that I'm going with my date and she's like well now I can't go. So I felt really bad and I was talking to my date about it and he said that I can take her and that he wasn't mad. So I text my friend telling her that I can take her and she's like no I don't want anyone to be mad at me so I won't go. I keep telling her it's fine and I'll take her. Now she isn't answering. So now I feel very bad and even though my date says he's not mad I'm thinking he is. So I screwed up and I don't know what to do now.

Live and learn. This situation has hopefully taught you the importance of clear communication and to not jump to conclusions. You've done what you can now to fix things and make everyone happy. You put it out there to your friend that you could take her and she said she doesn't want to go now. That's her problem now, not yours. Go with your date and have fun. You already did the right thing by trying to stick with your original offer to drive her, and she's chosen to reject your offer.
