Once birth certificate was obtained, went and filed for child support, via online. Now this was over 2 years ago, almost 3 now. During the 3 years say maybe 4 or 5 times, the local ofs office has contacted me needing simple paperwork, forum's and what not completed: stressing in red that if I failed to return the required documents they would close the case. So of course I complied, we have no car so I physically walked the items to the office, so I know they were received. Now getting feed up of not being able to fully provide my child with transportation, I mean I know that Cs is for the child and no I do not mean I would like to go out and but a gts 4000 tripple 9. No I simply mean I work 40 hours and paying taxi fare 20 a day is taking away a lot that could be used to buy winters clothes, Christmas gifts all that. I am trying to be a responsible parent. I have been doing by myself for so long and just need a little help. Being said, yes I have went through all the help agencies, meaning we get food stamps and job coach assistance, but having to pay rent, some day care, pull ups and wow just the everyday things I do not know what to do. I making min wage and live in public housing and still have to pay a very large amount in rent. The sad part is that the said father wouldn't have to pay anything he just needs to sign her because so she could collect his benefits from ssdi... Can I file a claim with ssdi? Since there was already a court day set and past, in which he did not show, where do I file a claim if Ofcs or whomever has already "began' the process, did they file in the correct jurisdiction? The clerk from CT that I would need to file in the state where the child is residing> If that's the case, why didn't the govt help agency do so in the beginning?
