Police came to my door last night. My husband answered the door. The police asked if he was "Jake", when he said he was, he officer asked him to step outside. (The whole family was home and the kids were wondering why the office was at our house) The officer asked "Jake" if he had been at his ex-employers a job site. (He was forced to quit or be fired over a year ago due to theft of time - he wasn't feeling well and left early without telling anybody) "Jake" told him he was not. The officer said that a person that matches his description was seen on site and that supplies were missing. The officer told him that he hasn't seen the surveillance video yet. He did steal the supplies but denied it. Would the police come to our house based on an accusation? Do you think they have evidence? Could the officer be coming over first to see what ?Jake? Looks like so that when he sees the video he could ID him? The officer left and now we don?t know what is going to happen. Will he be charged? Will they come to our house and arrest him? If he?s charged should he then confess? We live in Canada.

Do I understand you that he DID visit the job site and DID steal the supplies? Your husband's actions were not the smartest. I wouldn't be surprised if the police do have evidence and the officer was trying to get an eyeball on him.
If he is arrested he should keep his mouth shut and ask for an attorney.

If he did the crime, then he has to confess to spare the family more hardship. Of course the police where there to ID hm before they saw the video. Why else would they be there if they didn't have any hard evidence to take him away immediately.
Did he steal what is accused of stealing ? Only he knows, and apparently not telling right ? So because of this then there is more to come but who can say what.
They were probably there on a tip off.

Every question you ask should either be addressed by your husband or an attorney. We don't know what precipitated the issue other than missing supplies but the police must have some information. Can they arrest him-Sure. At your house-Sure Should he confess-Is he guilty?
