My brother has asked me to take in his daughter as he is having a hard time raising her. He would like us to see if she can get all the way through high school which will be 3 years. We don't wantto have to go through the courts to get guardianship, is there any way I can get a written guardianship or something so we can try to get her registered for school we live in 2 separate states I in Utah and he is in Montana. Her mother also lives in Utah but she does not want to live with her so would I need both parents permission or just my Brothers as he is the one that was left in control of her. I just want to be able to help my niece if I can and she says she's excited to come. Please if you have any info for me let me know.

You will need guardianship which means going though the court.

You can ask the school if Power of Attorney would be accepted, but most likely no
