I am in the process of getting bids to replace my 22+ (2 zone) systems. We have around 4500SF. One unit is in the unfinished basement and one in the attic.

See the list of equipment below and estimated prices. One company uses the Bryant product and the other Amana. The Amana bid is $3,100 higher. I was told it is because the Amana is a higher quality product and has a better warranty but the Bryant Evolution 95s system gets great reviews also. Does the Amana really add $3100 more in value?

Also these bids seem a little on the high side even for New Jersey.

Thank you for any input.

Get a third bid. Compare warranty on each system. Bryant offers the 10 yr parts and labor if Amana can offer a warranty longer it may be worth the price. Amana used to offer a life time warranty on their compressors but it did not go over real good in a small community after they started to have compressor failures and trying to charge home owners for repairs.
