My 8 year old daughter was complaining to me about her left ear being hard of hearing for a short time while she was at school then it went away. The next day she had noticed a lump behind her ear that is somewhat firm. I had taken her to the doctor that same day and they did a preasure test on her ears and a hearing test. Her right side had a lot of preasure but not the left(the left is the side with the lump). Her hearing was fine. She complains that the lump is painful. The doctor also did a urine test because she gets a lot of bladder infections, but that came back fine. The doctor also sent her for a blood test and put her on amoxil, and claritine. We go back in a week to see the doctor, but is there anything I should ask the doctor to check anything else while we are there? And does anybody have any suggestions on what it could be caused by? And yes she has had some congestion when she caughs. Thank you.

It sounds as though she has a swollen lymph node due to infection.
