Trying to figure out the name of a movie later 80's early 90's with a young girl blonde around 7 and 11 and pretty sure her mother died giving birth to her she was never really in the movie and the little girl would try to stay gone as long as possible each night from home because her father was abusive and an alcoholic and I remember a scene of her running out of the house in a white dress maybe a white night gown barefooted early in the morning crying and scared and hides in a field only the field is like a dirt straw type field very dry looking and it sits right in front of the house they live in a white house very run down looking old and very telling that they were very poor! My boyfriend remembers her laying in the field she was hiding in I think she was sitting in it with a friend, she was crying sitting on her butt with her knees brought to her chin crying saying I'm never going back, never and then tells her best friend she loves her and she will come back to find her one day or maybe it was even a brother or sister, or maybe even she was attached to an item like a jar of coins from her mother or a blanket.. She was always dirty looking she rarely wore shoes and her feet were always dirty and her clothes always looke grungie and her was about shoulder length and not greasy but like wavy with tangels! Please please someone help us figure this movie out lol! T

Sounds a bit like Jenny in "Forrest Gump".
