If you are convicted of a sexual assault on a minor, and you receive 15 years, when are you up for parole?

Hello b:
Most states don't have parole anymore.

I assume this is a totally separate question, therefore I moved it to its own thread.
Generally a sentence includes a range of years. The low end of that range indicates when they are eligible for parole. If the sentence was for a straight 15 years then I doubt if there is any eligibility for parole.

The parole option should have been spelled out by the Judge during your sentencing phase. Reread your sentencing paperwork and see if this was even an option in your case.

The issue here is, what was the sentence, normally once sentenced in the system, if there is parole, the first date for a hearing will be set.
In Georgia, you will have to serve at least 1/2 of your sentence to have first hearing but you normally will have to have served 2/3 of it, before it happens.
