Hello,

I have a problem with my AC.

So I have a FHP MANUFACTURING DIVISION EM036-1VTC.

It's been 1 montH I only had problems with that AC.

So I live in a Condo, and the AC is about 10 years old, and we change the motor almost a year ago.

So what's going on is that no fresh air goes out the AC.

When I turn it on, it seems to work for about 5 minutes and then regular air goes out the AC.

When that happened we cleaned the serpentine coal and everything was working fine.

Last week the problem appeared again, except that the AC was not even working the first 5 minutes like previously (it was just doing SHHHHHHHHH)

We called a technician that put some freeze in it (he said there were no freeze inside).

Since it works, but I turn the AC off I have to wait 3 or 4 hours before turning it back on again.

I asked 2 technicians to come: one said there's a leak, and if it's inside, we have to change the unit.

The other said that it's overheated, and that we should clean the serpentine( but it's been done 3 weeks ago)

I really don't know what to do...

Should I change the unit?

Thank you,

Jonathan

If there was no freon (refrigerant) in the system, there is indeed a leak somewhere. Leaks can be a real bear to find on some systems, especially really slow leaks. It would be impossible to help you find it from here, so I would get a reputable a/c company to come check things out for you. Good luck, and I hope things go smoothly for you.

I wondered too, but decided he meant the A coil, the copper is "S" serpentine shape
