I've been counting days and my period was 2 1/2 to 3 weeks late. So I woke up this morning with some spotting and I thought it was my unusually (for me) very late period. But maybe 2 hours later I started having extreme cramping in my lower abdomen and aching in my lower back. There is moderately heavy bleeding with a decent amount of tissue. My breasts also ache but not like they usually do when I get my period. The cramping was/is so bad I can't stand even with pain meds. Does it sound like a miscarriage or a really weird, first of it's kind (for me) period?

How old are you?
Periods can change.
Also many women miscarriage without realizing it.
The thing to do is to investigate these changes and be seen by a doctor to rule out other things as well. Please see your doctor.

They bumped my appointment up after I called. This morning I was bleeding extremely heavily and losing a lot of large pieces of tissue. They did pelvic and blood tests. I was about 6 weeks. It makes me wonder if it would have been a boy or girl...
