Our bathroom sink has two separate knobs with one faucet. When we turn on just the cold we might get almost hot to warm water for several seconds until we finally get cold. Since the cold water line runs to the cold knob and the hot to the hot knob how do we get a mix with just one knob turned on?
From what I've read on line, it seems we may have a deteriorating dip tube in the hot water heater. The water in the shower is inconsistent in temperature. I'm tired of drinking warm water and showering in cold. If I could find some info for my DIY husband maybe both problems could be fixed. Thanks

Is this happening in every plumbing fixture in your house ? How about in shower ? Are your pipe ran through the attic ? Back to you. Milo
