Our landlords are willing to provide paint and materials to redo the outside of our 1938 ugly gray=blue house. I have done this kind of work before but it was a long time ago and have no idea what kind of labor price would be reasonable. I do know that there will be quite a bit of prepping as the last paint job was done terribly bad. The house is around fifteen hundred square feet and just one story. Does anyone have a reasonable idea of how long it would take and if I should charge by the foot, hour or job?

I am guessing six weeks and thinking 1500$ Does that sound right? Eve (we live in an older sub division of Fort Worth Texas BTW)

To be fair to the landlord, get at least two bids from painters, and then have your price in that range. Also I will assume the landlord is going to pay you or give rent credit ? Normally if they do this, they are expecting it to be a discounted price,
If not they would just hire a professional and get it done in a few days.
