I have been smoking meth for over a year and now when I try to stop I not only go through physical, but emotional withdrawl. I really wan to stop, but it is a little scary. I am not able to go into the hospital and have to do it at home and don't know if it is safe. I am under a Docter's care though. If someone could explain what I am going to go through, it would help. I got really agitated last time and weak. I am aware that it is not going to be comfortable, because of the fact I have been on it so long. I just don't know what is going to happen.

It's going to be uncomfortable, and you're not going to like it.. But, it's SAFE and you'll LIVE through it. I did. Good for you for doing it.. Meth is the WORST drug in the world...

Please reach out for treatment. Go to an emergency room or otherwise find a treatment program which can help you safely detox and also treat the underlying causes of your addiction. It's hard to do alone and you don't have to do it alone.

I wouldn't be so sure that it's safe for everyone to detox alone - you don't really know what underlying conditions might be present, what kind of damage might be done by the use to date. And there considerations such as, if you're a woman, you want to confirm that you're not pregnant and so on.

I'm not a drug user but have known a few people who were in serious trouble and did find sobriety. God bless you!

It IS hard to do alone, and if treatment on demand were available, I'd have recommended it.. But, it ISN'T. Unless he's got LOTS of money, he DOES have to do it alone... It IS doable, though. I'm an EXAMPLE. I do agree that it WOULD be better if there was help for the addicted... Damn drug war.
