When I was younger I remember watching I movie on a video tape but I can't recall the name. I know abit about the plot and the characters but can't seem to find it under anything I've searched so far.
The movie is based around the journey of these animals. I can't remember why exactly they are moving but I think it has something to do with there home being destroyed or looking for the perfect home.
I remember a few sequences from the movie, but not in any particular order. In one scene the animals are all trying to cross the road, some aren't swift enough so a stork or heron carries some across in its mouth. It can't carry the hedgehogs for they are too prickly and they have to cross by themselves. It also struggles with the snake for she has a temper and has to get her across quite quickly. The hedgehogs start walking across and I don't recall if one gets killed by a car or a near miss, and the other survives or if they both do.
Another scene is when they are on a farm and starving some start eating from the lettuce in a field, but it smells funny. The look at a butterfly which dies eating it and decide its not good. Then during this the tractor comes along with a large spinning rotor which is putting pesticide on the crops.
At some point the animals also visit the city, eating from bins and the stork is the one who finds loads of fish which its happy about.
They also find a church, whether they use it as shelter or not I don't remember but it is raining.
The main characters are: a fox, and I think a vixen. Hedgehogs. Stork. Mole. I believe the male phesant is killed on the farm but the female is there I may be wrong. A temperamental snake which I think is female and I think there was a badger but I may be mistaken.

Any ideas? I do not believe it is a mainstream company like disney who produced the film but I may be wrong. Thank you

It sounds like The Animals of Farthing Wood, it was a book, then a movie and then later a TV series.
