I have a 19995 Ford Tuarus, 3.0 liter engine with a 19 bolt AX4N electronic transmission. The car slips out of gear at stop signs and stop lights. It also slips when making turns at low speeds and has a been leakink fluid since we got it a yr ago. We have just replaced the transmission and upon the first test drive noticed the problem still exits. The slipping is more pronounced now jerking the car all over. The only thing different is it is no longer leaking. Does anyone know if this is a transmission problem and if so how to fix it?

Thoughts:

. Drop and clean the pan & magnet, replace the filter, and ensure it's filled with Mercon V. Afterwards, move the gear selector through each gear (PRNDL), pausing 5 seconds in each gear. This will ensure proper hydraulic coupling. Recheck fluid level, when the transmission is at normal operating temperature, on level ground, and in Park.

. Disconnect the negative battery cable overnight, to force the PCM to relearn shift points.
