How do you do math problems with exponents and quotients like five to the power of negative one (three to the power of negative two)

What do these problems ask you to do? There are quite some different questions that can be made up with exponents...
But one thing which might be helpful to you:
a^{-b} = \frac{1}{a^b}
so:
5^{-1} = \frac{1}{5}
3^{-2} = \frac{1}{3^2} = \frac19
