Check engine light is on and want to find out what the issue is. Is there a way to re-set without the scanner?

The Data Link Connector is located under the dash, just left of the steering column. You will need to make the necessary repairs and use a code reader or scan tool to reset the PCM. If it's only a loose gas cap, however, tighten it and the CEL will go out shortly on its own.
