I have a Challenger tank 119 gallon, if the power fails and I want to use the water in the tank to be able to flush toilets and wash hands. If I buy a shallow well jet pump or a water pressure booster pump if the pressure is set at 30/50 can I change it to 40/60? I have an outside facuet that is only getting 30 psi and the other is 40 psi. Right now the pipe that runs to each faucet is 1/2", if I change the pipe back to 3/4" would this solve my pressure problem? Have a good day.
Thank you,
Daniel Perry

Remove the grey cover from the switch. With the power off, turn the large center nut clockwise a full turn or two. Exactly how much is an issue of trial and error. Turn the power on, and see how high the pressure goes. If it's too high, turn the nut back a little. Too little... tighten down some more. It will generall maintain a 20# differential between cutin/cutout points.

On a Square-D Pumptrol pump pressure switch, Turtn the larger spring,(#1) clockwise to raise [both] cut-on and cut-off pressures.
In other words, adjusting the pressure on this spring shifts the whole operating range of the switch up or down, but keeps the difference between cut-in and cut-out the same, whatever it happens to be (typically it's about 20 psi from the factory.
Turn the smaller spring.(#2) clockwise to raise the cut-out pressure only.
In other words, adjusting the pressure on this spring shifts just the pump cut-out pressure up (clockwise) or down (counter-clockwise).
This should give you the pressure you desire. Good luck, Tom
