We have put in a new Moen Kitchen faucet about a year ago. The Model is CA87480CSL. The sprayer will not work. We are afraid to take the faucet apart, or don't know how. Where is the diverter and how do we get the faucet apart? We hate to have the plumber back out as it will cost so much. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bernice Cochran

Hi Bird. First off, please remove your phone number, as I would hate to see you receive a bunch of prank calls okay? Next, you should be able to unscrew the fitting on the inlet of the spray hose head. There is most likely a screen there that is plugged up with gunk. You can do this without shutting any water supply valves off. Water is only supplied to the spray nozzle when the fuacet is turned on. So take the spray head apart (slowly and remember what goes where), and with the nozzle off, turn the faucet on to flush the spray hose. Clean the screen, or any parts in the nozzle that have gunk in them, and reasemble. If you get no water from the spray hose with the nozzle off, you most likely have a diverter problem. Im not real keen on posting pics, but Im hoping one of the other folks here can give you detailed pics with explanation of removing the dirverter if that is indeed the issue. One other thought. Moen is terrific on customer service. So you could call Moen and they will send you new parts and give free phone tech assistance. 1-800-buy-moen

I agree with MGD, especially his last part. When you bought that Moen it had a logo saying on the box: Buy it for looks, buy it for life. You have a lifetime warranty on that faucet. Call 1-800-289-6636 and tell them what you need. The new cartridge/valve will come with instruction Ray Charles can follow. They also have tutorials online at their website.
