Hello. I am trying to find a doctor or lab where I can send in a blood sample via finger prick to get a CBC test. I am needle phobic, but I have no problem sticking my own finger for home tests, etc. I am in the Seattle area and this is for general health and not for a specific health concern.

Yes it can be done by a finger prick

Blood test CBC Pediatric Oncall (http://www.pediatriconcall.com/fordoctor/DiseasesandCondition/Procedure/routine_blood_test.asp)

You should check with your local doctor, or see if you have an independent lab in the area.

Most all labs can do a finger stick for a cbc, just like a heelstick on a baby...
But they choose not to if they can because the integrity of the sample can be compromised. I'm sure if your doctor writes the order to do as a fingerstick, they would
Oblige, but be ready to give a repeat sample if needed because the sample clotted or etc.
