Where can I find a reference for the furniture and fixture found in each room in a house... as well as its corresponding symbols (in a floor plan) and its dimensions...

I believe you are looking for something like Wiley's Graphic Standards (http://www.wiley.com/WileyCDA/Section/id-301535.html). They have student editions available, and I am sure you can purchase used ones online.
