Should be good for years and years. Only thing I would worry about is the toilet trap drying up, allowing sewer gas into the home. I have turned the water back on to homes that have been without water for many, many years, and very seldom have a problem with a leaky toilet from lack of water. Why do you ask?

How often should a toilet be flushed to avoid the fseals from cracking? If the seal on the flange is your concern then you can put your mind at rest. The seal is made from wax and will not crack ,
Now if your asking about when a toilet should be flushed to conserve water then I have a "?old timey" poem for you.
It goes like this,
f it's yellow let it mellow, If it's brown flush it down
( I've waited years for a post I could use that in)
Cheers, Tom

A car sit, which could cause the battery to die.

So you're wondering if the battery in your toilet will die?
Not using a toilet doesn't run the battery down.
Anyway, I am guessing you really mean to ask if it's bad for the toilet like it is bad for a car.. no, not really. A car's battery runs down because there is a constant draw on the electrical system and batteries just normally lose some charge over time anyway. Toilets are not even close.

Studiocity**
You have posted the same question twice on this page. Since the answers are the same why did you ask again? Tom PS** I merged both posts since both deal with the same question.

Really no harm in letting a toilet set without use, or flushing. The only reason I would suggest flushing from time to time is the water will become stagnant, possibly even moldy over a long period. It wouldn't hurt a thing to flush it once a week or so, and clean it every couple of months or so.

In the new skin, my answer makes no sense as it doesn't show the merged posts... lol. Oh well.
And your answer would have been different from ours in what way?

Ya never heard of jump starting a dead toilet?

Well, only in that I wouldn't have made such a big deal out of the battery in the toilet running down. ;)

Hey Odinn! I dug the hell out of your battery post. It gave me a chance to play a little. Since we don't get paid we get our jollys where we can. I don't use the new skin It hurts my eyes! Cheers, Tom
