What about in the state of Georgia? And, what if the dad is only age 16=17?

What about in the state of Georgia? Hello b:
There's no law against screwing a father out of his child's life. It is, however, rather shabby. Plus, you can't collect child support, either.
His age doesn't matter. Why would it?

There IS a law that requires you to contact the father if you plan on making specific changes legally to the child's life.
An adoption is the primary thing that comes to mind that REQUIRES you notify the father.
Of course, this varies by state---but it would be cheating the CHILD to not inform the father.

If you need to claim public assistance, you will have to name the father. If you give up the child for adoption or marry and have your husband adopt, you will have to name the father. At some point the child will want to know about his father and may resent you for hiding him.
If the dad is that young, he may be guilty of statutory rape.
