I have a problem with my mower, when running and at the point that you disengage the clutch the mower stops running, if you push the clutch back in the mower continues to run.. any suggestions as to what I need to look at?

It sounds like you may have some kind of interference between the throttle (engine speed control) and the clutch control. I suggest, that with the engine off, (and preferably cold), you check the throttle cable(s), choke cable(s), and clutch engage & release mechanism(s), to see if anything is loose, bent, broken, or missing. Pay particular attention to any kind of clamps that might hold the throttle and choke cables to the engine or the frame the engine is mounted on. Operate the clutch several times, with the engine off, and note any reactionary movement of anything involved with engine control, engine braking (including blade stop mechanisms) and engine mounting. Also check for carburetor leaks and mounting hardware (such as screws and bolts). Good luck!

I am fairly certain this is a failed safety switch. Most tractors have about 3 safety switches which prevent you from doing something dangerous like dismounting while moving forward. In your case the swwitch is under the seat. It should detect you sitting on the seat and would let your move forward. Your switch has failed and thinks you are not sitting down on the seat, consequently it kills the engine.
