Hi,
When my washing machine is spin drying it sucks air from the kitchen sink (Island sink) that's at least 15 feet away. It makes all sorts of gurgling noise in the kitchen sink while the washing machine is draining, it's very loud.I went up on the roof and ran a garden hose into the vent pipe to flush it out. The water didn't back up to the roof so I assume the vent is clear. I tried adding an inline vent to the kitchen trap but that didn't help. The kitcken sink has a 3 inch waste pipe under it, which comes through the concrete foundation, with a cleanout plug on top of it. The sink connects with a normal size P trap into the 3 inch pipe. I also get sewer odor out of the kitchen drain as the spin cycle ends. The only way I've found to eliminate the gurgling noise is to remove the cleanout plug but unfortunately I still get the sewer odor. It's been like this since we bought the house but is now getting worse.
Please Help. This is driving my wife insane and therfore making my life miserable.
Best Regards,
Frank
