Today, about an hour ago, I was charged with Theft Under 5000$ from my work.
I took about 950$ over a span of a month, I live in a crappy part of town and I needed money to pay my bills. I am extremely sorry about what I've done, and I know that no matter what I say or what I do - that nothing is going to change that.

I've ruled out the possibility of diversion because of the amount. I am a straight A student, who just graduated with Honors from my high school, and got a pre-acceptance into University. I've never even been suspended before in my entire life, and have never had a criminal record ever.

I don't know what to do,
I am 18 years old,
And HAD my whole life ahead of me, until I F*'d up to the extreme.

What are my options?
I've contacted a lawyer and am waiting to hear back.

First, no you are sorry you got caught, most likely if you had not been caught you would still be doing it.
Lets be honest at least here.

Most thefts are sorry after they get caught or after they go to jail.

In your case, a program may still be possible, that is not really that much in the aspect of theft.

Also hopefully you have not made any confession or any statement to where you work.

Keep your mouth shut and talk to the attorney
