I recently adopted an 11 month old dashhund puppy. He has decided that he must always be at my side, no matter where I am or what I'm doing. The big problem though is that if I do not allow him to follow me (i.e. close the door), he will poop on the spot, even if he's been outside for an hour not 2 minutes before. His previous owner swears he was house-broken but he's had issues since he's come home with us. He did share his old home with another dog. He doesn't just poop in the house, he pees too but not as often. Its as though he's angry and is retaliating. We never seem to be able to catch him in the act.
He also piddles when I pay attention to him, something that he is beginning to do with the rest of my family too.
I'm almost at the point where I'm going to re-home him but really don't want to do that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
