In Yakima County, I was ticketed for fishing in juvenile waters. First offense for anything ever. What is the average sentence for this offense? Ugh. I am so nervous.

Was it a DEC violation or something else?

This sounds like a fine, not a criminal offense.

My ticket which I received in the mail had a statement on the bottom of ticket which reads max fine $1,000 and or 90 days in jail it is a misnomeaner offense.

Usually the wording $x or x days means, if you can't pay the fine, you spend the time in jail.

... it is a misnomeaner offense.
It's "misdemeanor".
That's the maximum possible sentence for violation of that particular statute (which might include many more serious things than "fishing in juvenile waters". ). Does that mean the area is restricted to fishing by children, or that it is closed to fishing because it contains young fish?
Anyway, I would guess a fine of a few hundred bucks.

If it is the Department of Fish and Wildlife (DEC in my State) they don't fool around - check through the various categories.

Yes, it should be a fine.
