I am attempting to replace a Carrier thermostat with a Honeywell 1100. I have a green, yellow, white, red, orange, and blue wire going to the thermostat. I hooked Green to G; Yellow to Y; white to W; Red to Rc; Orange to Rh and left the jumper in and taped blue up and put away. The AC is running but I was wondering if this was correct since it is NOT what the directions say. My concern is if the orange wire and the red wire with the jumper are in the correct location.

1st remove the orange wire from RH
Most of the time the blue is common and should be tagged to the c post on tstat
The orange wire normally is used only if you have a heatpump, you didn`t say wheather you had a heatpump so have to guess you don`t
I don`t have a copy of the directions but was wondering what they tell you to do and why you chose to not do what directions said to do
