I am tying to find the name of a specific american painter whose work I enjoy. His paintings usually focus on light in simple rooms or entrance ways. There are no people or animals in the paintings. I have seen them of old cottage rooms and of a gate to Trinity college in Dublin. I would appreciate any help in identifying this artist.

Surely you can realize that your description is far to vague to give you an answer. There is nothing to go on. Is this a victorian artist, a contemporary artist, Just what are you trying to find?

I can manage some hints, like a painting shown here and a signature to identify, but you don't offer anything other then a'specific american artist'.

I appreciate your willingness to help, but sorry to have anoyed you. I have added some details to the discription, but I do not know a lot of details other than these.

Annoying, no, where did you get that from. We are all volunteers here and dedicate our time, from time to time and when a question is oblique there is not much sense in pursuing the objective.

How can I recognize anything form the artworld by your description? You can't provide a pic on line, can you ? That would be helpful.

Okay, I saw your addition, but can't you ask at the place where you saw it; would not that be easier. This is an international site, I can't access what the NEC? Have on display to find you an answer.

What is the Birmingham UK NEC by the way?
