What you have is quite common in girls in the first few
Years after onset of menstruation.
The most likely cause is something called menorraghie des vierges (in English: heavy bleeding of the virgins).
The cause is, that the menstrual cycle does not always
Function optimally in the first few (about 5-7) years.
The ovulation does not always take place and the inefficient
Hormonal regulation can lead to prolonged bleeding.
The bleeding most probably lasts 2-3 weeks and virtually always stops spontaneously.
Only rarely is it necessary to see a doctor if you do not have any other disturbing signs.
If the bleeding holds on for a very long time it can be helpful to think about anemia (if you are experiencing any signs).
In many cases the best thing to do is wait until it subsides and your normal cycle comes back.

Do consult your doctor if you loose weight very quickly, if you experience so much blood loss that you are suffering of dizzyness and are feeling very tired.
If the bleeding does not go away.
In extreme cases the doctor can prescribe you drugs that stop the bleeding.

Also to summarize; the bleeding is most likely caused by your not yet totally matured reproductive system and chances are, that it will subside whithin the next 10 days.
