Hello:
I NEVER quite believed it like I do now. WHEN George W. Bush was warmongering, papers like the NY Times blasted him continuously. These days, however, when the warmongering of Barack Obama (who makes Bush look like a piker), is unearthed, the NY Times, along with ALL the rest, are silent.
Except one or two. An article by Jeremy Scahill in the Nation Magazine reveals Secret CIA prisons in Somalia (http://www.thenation.com/article/161936/cias-secret-sites-somalia)where I have no doubt torture continues unabated. The difference is, we can say the Somalie's are doing it - not us.
The story WAS picked up by Morning Joe, but strangely, NOBODY else. You should SEE the interview. (http://www.dailypaul.com/171265/jeremy-scahill-uncovers-secret-cia-sites-in-somalia-morning-joe-msnbc-july-18-2011)
Obama is Bush on steroids! Stop him! While you're at it, write a letter to your local paper and ask them WHY they don't report this story.

Ex is starting to see what we've been saying all along... and it goes way deeper than just this topic.

I'm still wondering why the media is not doing it's dilligence on Gun Walker while it treats the side show in Britain as a major story..

Because they have an agenda to push... and they ignore anything that runs contrary to that agenda... and when they can't ignore it... they lie about it.

Hello again:
I entitled this thread "the media", but my INTENTION was to point out our continuing involvement in secret prisons, rendition, torture, unlimited detention, and the lies being told about it...

That's easy, because it's Murdoch and they can't resist the opportunity to link the side show to Fox News.

The drive-by media can't have an agenda? Its really painfully obvious they do have one and are pushing it. Because THEY lied to the public enough to get that Cretin elected... they are going to pretend anything HE does is fine with them... even if they were crying about the very same thing when it was Bush doing it.
The Drive-by media doesn't grasp what the word hypocrite means.

You know Ex I have great difficulty working out whether you are a liberal or a closet conservative. You complain newspapers are liberal but in reality what you are complaining about is their attempt to bring balanced reporting. You think Obama is more over the top than George Bush, but Obama hasn't started any wars by himself, in fact the only war that has started during his reign he politely withdrew from after firing the opening shots. I ask you; would George Bush have run off with his tail between his legs? I think you must be one of those who's income lies in the upper quartile and you are afraid of paying your fair share. You are like a lot of liberals, Ex, universal health care or what passes for it near you is okay, so long as you don't have to pay for it. Job creation programs are okay as long as you don't have to pay for it, AGW abatement is okay so long as you don't have to pay for it

Which war is that your referring to? I know your not talking about this one.
The Obama administration is considering sending more Predator drones and other surveillance planes to bolster the NATO air war in Libya, and has reopened a debate over whether to give weapons to the rebels seeking to overthrow Moammar Kadafi, a senior Defense Department official said.

Also I applaud ex for stepping forward on this issue and calling it like he sees it.

The US's unique contributions? Being drones using drones? I don't consider playing video games with drones war but messing about with model planes
Ex can play these games of convenience all he likes, he has gone from a liberal position to a conservative one. If the US truly believes the gadfly should be swatted then stop messing around and do it otherwise stay out of it. What would Bush do?He would have had troops on the ground in a decisive blow. But all this ***** footing about on the peremeter doesn't help anyone
