I got implanon put in about 10 months ago(Sept 2010), I've never had any real problems with it but this morning I woke up and it feels like there's a bruise around the spot where the implanon is but I can't see a visible bruise. It hurts pretty bad though and is sore. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this. Is it normal?

I have this same problem! I got mine in April, no problems except bleeding in the first couple of months (nothing heavy) which has now stopped.
My implanon feels the same as you describe, almost as if there should be a bruise around the actual implant (not insertion site), it is very irritating but not distracting. Sometimes the pain feels like a pulling pain.
Did you ever find out what it was?
