My Natural hair color is a medium brown and I thought I wanted to go red, so I had it professionally done and the bottom of my hair is now a reddish color with a little bit of a maroon tint to it, and then the top is a lighter shade red but its getting a orangey/ coppery tint to it. I can't really afford to go back to get it professionally done again, so I was wondering if it would be safe to use a at home brown hair dye and if so should I go with a light brown or a dark brown, will any of them actually cover the coppery color, and will the color last? I've heard that ash brown works best to take out red, but I'm not really sure what color is considered "ash brown" or should I just wait and save up to go to the salon again?
