I turned the key and heard a fast clicking. I checked the battery connections and they were fine, so I am thinking it might be my starter. Should I replace my starter soleniod?

Connections might be fine but what about the battery. I'd go for that before a starter. Put a charge on or try a jump. The hot weather plays hell on batteries as the plates expand and touch each other and short out.
