Can a buyer take legal action against a seller after 15 days of possession? They are saying the interior doors do not close properly and nothing was written in the contract regarding working doors. I'm in Canada.

Sure they can take action. We would need to actually read the sales contract but its common for there to be some statement about known defects. If the doors do not operate correctly they would likely feel you knew about it and did not disclose the issue.

Doors were working fine before they took possession. How many days do you think I'm responsible for the house after the sale?

There is no set time frame on how long you are responsible. It depends on the type of defect, whether you were aware of it, etc. If they had a home inspection, then the inspector should have caught something like interior doors not closing. Even without an inspection this is something that should have been apparent during viewings.

So if you are sure they were working properly, then tell them that. Then it would be up to them to take legal action.

No, they did not have a home inpection done. I also told them they were working fine before they took possession, plus it's been 15 days since they moved in.

I agree, this sounds like you got a whiner for a buyer. No home sold is perfect and buyers should expect some repairing done on their own dime. Now if the AC did not work or the furnace had a crack that would be different.

I wouldn't put that past them. Whiner's will be whiner's. Thanks to all the thoughts rec'd.
