I have a 15 year daschund that passed away while I was on vacation. The lady who was caring for them came in the mornings and evenings to care for them. Monday evening she found him passed away, he had throw up coming out of his mouth and fecal matter out of his rear and his eyes where open... do you think that he suffered? The only medical problems that he had I was aware of was a heart murmur, but he was not coughing

At his moment of death, his bowels would have let lose and that would be reason why the fecal matter. It all depends on the time he had last eaten and how much had got through to his lower bowel.
You stated he had a heart murmer; well many adults have and don't realize it until they get older.
No I don't think he suffered Sepeda. Coughing actually has nothing to do with it. His lungs could have been clear even with a heart murmur.
Accounting for his eyes being open, then he was taken suddenly with no suffering.

Thank you for this... I have been blaming myself for not being here with him... I was so afraid he suffered by himself

I am very sorry for your loss, it's always hard when they are taken from us so suddenly.
I also don't believe that she suffered, my parents had an old Great Dane that slept on the bed with them, one night she passed away.
When they woke up in the morning they tried to rouse her only to find she was dead, eyes open, staring blankly at the world.
If she suffered she would have moved, cried, woken them up, but nothing, she went peacefully.
15 is a good old age for a Doxie, don't feel any guilt.
