What do you mean, the child does not live with its mother ? Can you explain a little better. Who is the baby living with ?

Also where are you at, and how many years has it been since you signed the birth certificate.

At this point legally you are the father, and can be held liable for child support.

In some states ( if you are even in the US) may not even allow you to take your name off, if it has been over a number of years.

But you would start by hiring an attorney and filing a motion in family court, this would require a DNA test of you and the child.

If you signed an affidavit of paternity, I can think of two possible scenarios:

At the time you signed, you believed you were the father, but now have information which suggests your are not; or
You knew you were not the father, but signed it anyway for some reason.

If it's #1, what do you know now that you didn't know then? Has a paternity test been done?

If it's #2, you do know that you have committed a crime, right?

And finally, why do you want to change the BC? Are you being sued for child support? If so, you would defend by proving that you are not the father. You might be able to ask the court to order that the BC be changed.

Yes, ergo, all the questions. OP has to explain further why he wants to do this.
