I have been in my current position for a little over a year and I believe I deserve a raise, how should I go about asking for one. I am recent college graduate making only 22K a year for a full time Marketing/Administrative Assistant position.

Job promotion is based on performance and you have to take the necessary effort to prove that you are every inch worthy of it.However, if you know that you are not getting what you truly deserve, why not seek a better future in another company?

First, does the company have a performance review process? Many companies do performance reviews for all employees at specific times or on anniversaries.

If your company does not have have such a policy, then I would sit down with your boss and discuss his reviewing your work for the year. When that's done you open discussion about a raise.
