I am on probation for misdemeanors in PA but am working in GA, I am able to just call my PO twice a month and he is fine with me being down here. Last night I got a DUI and am in the process of fighting it in court. I spoke with a lawyer today and he told me that it would probably be a good idea to not tell my PO.

I figure on the one hand if I tell my PO up front he may take it easy on me (I have had violations in the past but for the last 3 years I have been problem free and have all of my fines paid off and all of my requirements completed), but he also may not take it easy on me since I have had violations before. If he yanks me back I will lose this job that I worked so hard for, he may even just say that I can't work down in GA anymore and have to spend the rest of my time in PA. On the other hand my lawyer seems to think he may not ever find out about it.

If he's doing his job, he will. Do you feel lucky?

Just remember if arresting agency, runs a background search, they will see you are on Probation and they may inform them. ( they may have already)

Also not informing your PO is a much more serious violation than the DUI, so if you don't tell them and they find out, you are almost 100 percent sure of being violated. ( my opinion) since PO hate people who don't report.

Also if you call in and they ask you and you lie, guess what, that will be a third violation.

But then perhaps your attorney knows more, has the attorney reviewed the evidence, reviewed the breath test and checked out the report ?
