View Full Version : Homelite pressure washer # 80710 won't high idle. Stalls when trigger squeezed.

I have a 2 yr old Homelite HLCA 80710 Pressure washer bought from Home Depot in Canada. I think it's the same as their Husky brand sold elsewhere. I used it 2 summers ago when I bought it new, and last summer too with no problems. I properly winterized it as per the manual and also sprayed an additive into the supply fitting to protect the pump over the winter.
I tried using it this weekend cleaning a deck and discoloured concrete. It ran fine for 20 minutes. Then wouldn't stay running on high idle. But it delivered acceptable pressure on Low Idle. After the first tank of gas, I refilled but it didn't want to start. I let it cool down, checked fuel, oil, inlet water screen, etc.
Finally got it to run, but when I switch to High Idle, she stalls. When I touch the throttle linkage she sputters and will stall if I don't release.
It will rough idle on the Low setting, but still not enough pressure to wash anything.
New Fuel, New Oil, Clean air filter, Good supply of clean water (city)
Any suggestions?
Thanks
